Thread regarding SAP layoffs

Round 2 confirmed for July

Since numbers were not hit in Germany due to works council rejecting layoffs, SAP has approved another round of 1500+ in Q2. Target areas are high cost ( US, Canada, UK).

It is true that works council will always reject layoffs, that has always been one of their responsibilities. If employees in Germany are not ready to retire due to age or confident they will find another job, they will simply not sign up. This is not the first or last time this will happen.

Really? July? Why not May? What is the source for your info? Why 1500? You must then know the total number of people already laid off. And you're saying that there is ZERO impact in Germany? What about France? Austria? And they were going to impact 1500 people in Germany alone?

The registration deadline in Germany is in early May. Until then its impossible to say how well the early retirement and voluntary termination programs have been adopted.

Source? Please don’t post this type of content to alarm people who are already on edge during this very difficult reorganization. If you can provide a link to this news, please do. Otherwise, it’s just counterproductive. Most veterans at SAP already know their days are numbered. If they weren’t cut in this round they most likely will be in the next reorganization.
