Thread regarding Walgreens layoffs

We all have families and need to start preparing for that day we are no longer needed

Coming from my position, I can say that our once beloved company is already dead, from what I have been hearing from my superiors. However, it is all hush-hush.

The only reason for me to post this is so you as an employee (just like me) needs to be aware of the real position of the company. We all have families and need to start preparing for that day we are no longer needed.

I put in some real good work for this company and I was so proud to be a Walgreens employee. I sacrificed a lot along the way, only to now see the lights coming out and darkness setting in. At my age, I don’t think I’ll be able to get a similar position and pay rate. So be it.

A very truthful post and some good advice from @YCe0SGf-4lqe

I am just an ASM but I have bled for walgreens. I was asked by my DM when I was going to apply for a store manager position. Honestly I don't even want to stay anymore.... They send me to c-ap stores with c-ap managers. I put in all the sweat to fix these stores and then get transferred to a new challenge presumably to gain experience I need to be a store manager. Well now that my DM is asking me to apply, I don't want it. I dont want walgreens. I was the chump who embraced frontier and used it and pulse to transform stores. I turned cashiers who could only ring people up into engaged employees performing full OSA functions, answering IC3 in Pharmacy and checking in vendors... They have done everything I asked.... Now my hours are cut by over 50 hours a week in the front end alone! b---s---. Check outofdates, walk customers to products, get an 83% NPS, ic3 in the pharmacy, resets, scrub the toilets, damn compass projects, ppls, truck, manage vendors, ad tags... We were BARELY getting this done and only so because I have a fabulous hard working team that I FREAKING BUILT. Now I have to let a part timer and a fulltimer go while maintaining our standard. Shame on you Walgreens for placing so little value on the work we do. I am done.

Quite interesting to Google the salary of the CEO. It’s just over $14 million! Disgusting!!

Honestly, IF this company does survive another 1-2 years, they need to change the name to simply "Boots"; because there is no longer anything that remotely resembles the company that Charles R. Walgreen founded, the company who used to abide by the "7 Service Basics". Oh, but we still have Frontier.... outstanding way to use our resources! Don't worry Stefano, the little old lady that needs help getting a transport chair out will have to wait while I help my ONE cashier catch an IC10. Alot of you guys at corporate are going to have to beg your way into Heaven.

It is so very concerning for all Walgreens employees! Walgreens has changed, and no for the better, since my cousin’s husband worked for them for decades. Now, my daughter and son in law to be are placed in the precarious position of both losing their jobs! All of you dealing with this stress have my support and heartfelt prayers! Walgreens has lost any future business from me!

I agree. Once you put all the pieces together from what's been going on in front of us and behind the scenes, it's obvious the company is coming to its end. Anyone who relies on this job for fulltime work needs to start looking for new jobs asap. Don't wait it out and hope it gets better, it won't. Use your knowledge and experience from this job to get another one that will stay in business longer.
