My area is really going to $h^t

Hi Everyone,

I figure that if I can't transfer, its time to go. However, there is another area under a completely different Senior VP who wants me. Conditions there seem more sane. Other people from my department have had their transfers blocked. HR says the department can do that to employees at least once. My question for those of you who have been around:

Can you transfer once you have "pushed the button"? Can your manager still block it?

I don't mind taking a chance of being left with no option but to go back to my home country, but I would really appreciate knowing what will likely happen.

Yes going to hr will be a great experience. They will transfer you to another country. It will be the same country before starting to work for aramco

Jazan needs people. You can hide there for years and never worry about operating anything or getting your hands dirty. It’s a fantastic assignment at a flagship location.

LOL OP. Very true. Although I know of people who were moved where they wanted when they actually resigned (not threatened to ... but actually did). Make sure you want it tho ... the grass is not always greener

There are 2 steps for a successful transfer:

Get your manager to think it was his idea
Convince your department you really don't want to leave

Actually, I had the same question myself. Some areas are definitely better than others.
