Thread regarding Anadarko Petroleum Corp. layoffs

Which do we get?

If we are acquired by Chevron and then laid off (and I think there'll be plenty of that - in addition to all the layoffs we'll see before the acquisition becomes final,) do we get Anadarko or Chevron severance package? More importantly, do we get a package at all?

If you are APC employee when deal closes, you’ll be eligible for APC’s change of Control severance package if you are terminated (without cause) within 3 years of date of the merger closing. It’s awesome. It make’s RAWs $64MM seem like soy tofu dog food.

If you are alredy acquired by Chevron, then Anadarko is obsolete. Therefore no APC deal.

Unless there is some stipulation. Say for example, if within one year you get layed off by Chevron, then APC's package is still attainable. i seriously doubt it.

Ask HR, not Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band.

I wouldn't worry too much about severance packages and layoffs. Always remember APC/CVX/Whatever has your back and will take care of you and your family through these difficult and challenging times. Have faith, focus on what you can control, and cruise down 18th Ave into the sunset.
