There seems to be little concern on these boards for the pathetic performance of MPC stock. Marathon has suffered enormously under incompetent executive leadership.

Are you serious... COP buying MRO. What a joke.

What does MRO have that any company would want?

• Below average, scattered acerage in permian

• A slowly maturing field in EF

• A mediocre bakken field

• ORB that cant and hasn't produce good results and makes too much gas

• A dead and dying EG field

Now which one of these would make COP want to buy us???

Yes, those discussions are a not well kept secret, at least at 5555 San Felipe. But, speak of it at your peril, because if details leak, it could hurt MRO. Why would you want to do this?
