I keep hearing we are going to have another layoff. I see a lot of people quitting and taking jobs elsewhere when other positions are open. Are we going to have this avalanche of layoffs that seem to be rumored ? A better question I have is how can they have more layoffs when we are already spread thin as it is? There really aren't very many of us left as compared to a few years ago. It is hard to have a feel for this with so much rumor-mongering going on. I would think they at least need a decent body of us to win some work. How can they sell the product i.e. "know the business grow the business" without people to execute the work?

Sounds like a Project Manager, clueless and wants everyone else to do their work. Instead of delegating try listening and doing something so that the so called engineers can do their work, paper pushing at it's finest.
If you're slammed, you're probably okay. If you have time to look around, speculate and gossip, you maybe in trouble. A lot of work coming, maybe it's going to be done by non-US workers, but you'll still need a local presence.
Nobody is going to give MDR projects if they cannot execute them. Buying Lummus and CMS (CMS was created right after Lummus) was the beginning of the end.

I agree about Ms Piggy, what a poor excuse for a HR department. Just remember she is there for the company, not you. I do not see how she sleeps at night.
Agreed, I used to have a admin to schedule my day and do all my travel plans, a group of engineers to sift through the emails. Now I have to do all the work myself. What if we really got a real project. Who would do the work? I really spread thin and never did most of this stuff.
