I believe the numbers go a lot higher than what the company is reporting to the media. Given the fact that these layoffs were done in multiple countries and in multiple locations I imagine it was rather easy to hide the real number of heads that was reduced. So, anyone have a clue what the real numbers are?

I don't think that is possible. If one layoff more than certain % of employees they have to public announce it. It can't be hidden.
