Thread regarding Sears layoffs

We let ourselves become part of the scam

I would consider anyone who thinks that this act of “saving” Sears by Eddie is done for any other reason than his personal gain to be extremely naive. However, the workers that stayed at the company to this that were just pawns in this game(including me). It’s been years since Sears started its downfall, it’s been months since the writing was on the wall (bankruptcy), more than enough time to look for greener pastures. But no, we decided to stay, which in a sense makes us Eddies instrument for doing what he did. Just hope it’s not too late to find another job at this point.

Most people get that Eddie will cheat anyone and everyone given half the chance, even if he doesn't benefit. What people can't figure out is what he stands to gain at this point, because it looks like he's just scamming himself.

I work each week knowing that at some point the check won't be there. Still losing money. If I was depending on this job for survival, would have jumped ship awhile ago.
