Thread regarding SAP layoffs

How are we supposed to do this?

Our team was stretched thin as it is - and we are down three people. How exactly are we supposed to finish anything on time from now on when we could barely do it before?

Whoever made the decision on who to lay off had no idea what they were doing - or they didn't care. The result is the same - we are screwed.

The HANA layoffs are what surprised me, I mean it never really lived up to the hype of a "zero response DB" which was complete BS, and lets not even mention the silly hardware costs and insane licensing costs. I think SAP is ready to fall on the sword and push HANA to the side.

With database and SQL services from the cloud vendors, HANA really has no shot for anyone but on premise users, and even they are throwing things into the cloud, even if they dont make sense.

Whoever made the decision had no info on what exactly were the individuals doing in most of the cases. I was one of the individuals impacted and to say that the role was not required when actually there was lot of work being done, smacks of I competence and carelessness.
