Thread regarding Walmart layoffs

WM performs gradual changes

It’s clear that they are not going to announce a big set of changes and try to implement them, so in that way we would know what we are facing. Instead they chose an approach of changes being introduced gradually one by one, bringing us in that way in a state where changes are constant and where no one knows where they stand.

You are right about Walmart only wanting to hear ‘Yes’ from management. There’s a psychological term for this , it’s called groupthink. Some of the biggest disasters by businesses are the result of groupthink. Walmart is probably going to be added to that list!

Foran is trying to make one size fits all. From a sleepy Wally World in central Kansas to one in LA. The academy stores/ OBW is questionable at best I was surprised he found 50% of stores to his liking . Foran needs to scoop fish, or do a return with a drunk at 10PM then tell us what end is up

Foran has come out with his guns blazing but he's hunting in the dark with a night vision scope. I for one feel in the dark about what the changes are. Yes, changes are coming. OK tell us what is your plan Foran? I'm a human being then an employee. I need to make life choices. Lay it out for us instead of leading us like sheep to be slaughtered.

I agree in that the changes aren't so gradual considering there are a lot more coming this year alone (People Lead, Team Leads, ASM calibrations and other structure changes). I think the problem is Foran is in over his head and doesn't have any idea how to lead people down this path of change. He is setting goals and expectations for stores but then not giving those stores the resources (people, equipment, etc) to meet those expectations so they can never be achieved. When goals are not achievable, people just stop caring and eventually give up. The other issue the real problems are not being discussed at Walmart managers are trained to be "yes" men/women. If you bring up any actual problems you are considered negative and will likely find yourself out of a job.

I strongly disagree. Foran has come out with guns blazing. Its obvious in the stores and in the press
