So with 400 layoffs in corporate, what does this mean for the stores? Yea I'm sure things will get harder to get accomplished. But what about the employees in stores? I see it as it's only a matter of time before the stores start closing. But any word on that or any other layoffs?

Active corporate employee who dodged the lay-off, here. I don't believe the stores have anything to worry about. The reality is that with half of the chain sold to Walgreen's, it was only a matter of time until they peeled the layer off of corporate employees. Everyone here knew it was only a matter of time; there is no sense in sustaining a corporate workforce purposed for 4,000 stores when we're down to just above 2,000. We're all in the same boat in terms of uncertainty; but if the chain were truly going to bail and die, there would be plenty of time and heads up. The least any sane full-time employee could do is ride this thing out to the point of severance and unemployment.
Please don't go there.😰My previous home store(maybe a mile down the road from my current one)closed some 8 months ago being among 8 Sacro closures total within the past 14 months, and I'm still holding out hope that my current store(a former Thrifty that was remodeled into Rite Choice decor 16 years ago)gets a sorely needed Wellness conversion.🤞🍀Two decades with the same company is way to long to even think about bailing;and yes most of the California stores have UFCW representation.🛈
