I agree. I feel like employees should stand up for themselves. Most of the people getting it are those that have worked here so many years and this is how they treat you. In the olden days, at least it was a 'golden parachute' -- they would offer a year or two on the retirement and lots of people went.

A message of "I am not going to stand for this" won't have a real impact on their budget/profit.
Yes, if such a demonstration were organized it could cause embarrassment but not benefit the overall business model. (Instead of "biting the hand that feeds you" it would a matter of "bite the hand that fed you".)
It won't be seen as having the ability to decrease revenue by a perceptible amount/or an amount that is greater than the perceived/anticipated savings.
If essentially not in the future $ profit (/overall) equation, it will be dismissed.
