I left Cabela's a few years before the sale and went on to another outdoor industry job. In the last six mos. I applied for two different roles at Bass Pro. I have over a dozen years corporate retail experience and met every requirement listed in the job posting. One was in the same category that I worked for over 8 years at Cabela's. I have never been fired and have great relationships in the outdoor industry. I find it weird that I was not at least screened for one of these roles. I have talked to other ex-Cabelas employees and have hear that if you ever worked at Cabelas, don't even bother applying. They hired Cabelas employees after the merger and there aint no more coming in.

It’s because you was a corporate employee. Corporate is what put Cab in the mess it was in.
