Regarding the ruling that Q has to pay $1 billion rebate payment, I think that the ruling can potentially make more damage for the company than we expected. 1 billion is a lot of money, but Q is a big company, and should it come to that, pazing that summ shoulnčt be a problem. The bigger damage in this situation is that Apple now has the upper hand and Q could be very easily labeled publicly as the company that loses in court, which will, whether we care to admit it or not, have significant influence on the other lawsuits with Apple or even maze the FTC case.

QCOM is in debt, not sure why everyone feels so secure about the current financial position. You can thank GD and his cast of mental small people in finance.
This ruling will not hurt company at all. The $1bln was already written off from existing financial statements. Company is operating as if the $1bln was given to Apple already.
The $31M victory might be enough to cover the bonuses of 3 or 4 of the second tier executives this year. Every penny won helps to retain the crackerjack executive team.
Think about it QC knew they would have to pay Apple that money as they willing didn’t pay the Rebate but the big win is the Patent infringement which should cascade to the other lawsuits. Apple has built a reputation on being a bully but when stood up to they back down. They should lose and the writing is on the wall but we will know next month...right?
Ye ha, someone quickly give SM a $15M bonus, he worked so hard for this tiny achievement
The $1billion rebate loss is minor.
Q just won the $30 MILLION patent case. Woooohoooo. Execs with an eye on the big ones !
