I've been at several companies in my career. Seen many layoffs executed. This is the worst executed layoff I've ever witnessed. People are going in for their annual bonus and merit pay raise discussions and being told "Here's your bonus. Oh and here is your severance pay. Bye." Awful.
This is part of a reply to another thread that i reposted from @Y4Gc7L3-uka . The OP painted a good picture of the sad and sneaky manner in which they are performing this.
Again, this isn't the point of layoffs happening. The fact that sometimes companies have to layoff employees. At will employment isn't the issue.
The issue is the manner in which these layoffs were announced, executed, and the slow, over time approach to it. That's unethical regardless of legality. This is a slimy, sneaky, without a shred of integrity, and completely takes no ones feelings and life into account. I don't care what the severance is, be upfront with people and rip the damn bandaid off and move forward!

Yes this was my reply. Fat man in WHQs would come after me next if he knew who I was. Everyone at Ford not named Bill Ford hates Hackett. The other executives that report to him defend him publicly to protect themselves. Truthfully they hate him too. This is his track record. Wreaks havoc while collecting millions, then moves on to the next dumb sap. Hopefully Little Bill will be his last dumb sap.
Do the right thing and retire Hackett, you hack. It is right in your name!
