That's a news story. Because the thousands of victims here are working class people, it will get little traction in the media.
What many people cannot process is that US higher education has always been corrupt from the top down, and that it has always benefited the rich at every turn. It's not just this scandal, but it's the system. Even at a sector level, it includes a history propped up by genocide and oppression (see Wilder's Ebony and Ivy). It's the system that allowed George Bush II to attend Yale and Harvard, and the system that allowed Jared Kusher's father the right to buy his son's slot into Harvard.
