Thread regarding SAP layoffs

For entire teams that were laid off, what procedure was followed?

How was the lay-off executed for entire teams that were axed? Did each employee get on a 1–1 with hr and manager? Or were they all invited to a common MR and told about the layoff?

The email you get is titled "Business Update". If you see it, you are history.

I'm part of a team that had 3 layers let go. I'm in the middle. All of us received 1:1s on the same day with global leader and HRBP. Boss was laid off first, then me, then my team. I was given no visibility into the fate of my team and had very little time to reach out to them and let them know what happened to me before they had their own calls.

One meeting

Mostly HR person speaking

No work content is being discussed

Just what the process will be and “your benefits”

Whole team got a MR over the phone, Apu (aka Sanjeet Mall) read from a script for 2 min, then an HR person told us to wait for an email for a 1 on 1. Thanks for your service.

One meeting with the whole team, in a meeting room, with the highest-level manager not being laid off. HR not on the invite, but present. Manager speaks for 5 minutes, tops, very tightly scripted, then leaves and HR takes over.
