Call center staff reps forced to work overtime

Due to the shortage of staff reps, reps are now required to work overtime. I know someone who was called to work overtime. Reps that fail to comply with working overtime were subjected to corrective action and/or employment termination.

The Suddenlink call center in Lubbock Texas has closed, effective today 6/22/19. Agents were advised on 6/20 that their services would no longer be required effective that date. No two weeks warning, nothing.

"None of this true, plus we were out sourced again we get VTO all day lol. Altice will close Bartow and Newark. Jericho will move to Bethpage and they will have a small team that’s it. Shame really."

  1. Dominican republic, Florida, Georgia and South Africa already take a lot of TSG/Customer service calls and chats. So yes they are going to make it rain VTO because they can pay them a fraction of what it costs to to pay a local rep. At this point it's a lot more likely for Jericho to close as well.

  2. As far as moving Jericho call center reps (customer service/tsg) to Bethpage I'm not so sure anymore. It seems like they put that to a halt. Maybe they will keep shared services and move them to Bethpage when the time comes. They already have multiple call centers in other states and countries open. There is literally no reason to keep Jericho open or move those reps to Bethpage. A job that can be done from anywhere is not a safe job. There's already thousands of calls being routed outside the footprint everyday. Plan ahead for the future.

Wow. Some departments are starved for OT, some are swamped with it. Sounds like a well oiled machine to me!

Perhaps they should have not let go of 100+ reps on something that would have got them a verbal before or at worst a write up. This does not include closing Shelton.

I would find it odd if they pulled that because they are already lacking reps resulting in several hour long customer queue times. At the same time they are most likely looking to get rid of people using loopholes as they are already outsourcing cs and tsg calls. It's only a matter of time before they close another call center. Always have a backup plan.
