Heard from an outside Commercial Real Estate Company that the building owners are working on a contract with another organization on renting out the property. Makes sense since the building is not at full capacity,,,....

Don’t they already have an office at 520 Madison? Or have they shut down that white elephant yet?
Broadcom is more of the style of the old, old CA. Time to go back to 2 Penn Plaza and save cash.
MY understanding that they are looking at real estate in NYC. A NYC presence would be very beneficial business wise.
Islandia has R&D? Dude put down the crackpipe and the rose-colored sunglasses already.
@XzP1uba-zoq, the people and function may remain on Long Island, but don't assume "Islandia". If Broadcom can save money by subletting it out (or even better, getting out of the lease) and moving everyone to a cheaper, smaller, facility, it will do so.
There is no need for a "campus" for the remaining CA people on Long Island. Possibly half of the remainder can be WFH or hot desk status and the rest get cubes in a corporate building with less space.
It costs a lot to heat and cool Islandia. All of that except for a part of the expansion wing is on Broadcom's books.
Ignore the sensationalism, people. Obviously Broadcom will rent out the vacant parts of the building; Islandia itself as an R&D office isn't going anywhere.
Don't feed the trolls.
Depends on if the organization interested wants the whole campus or the whole tower, or just a piece. Isn’t the remaining CA team consolidated to 2 floors in the tower now?
If Broadcom can get rid of the whole Islandia campus that would be good for them. There is plenty of Class A real estate suitable to hold 200 people in Hauppauge or Melville.
Broadcom always rent out extra space or sell the property. It has nothing to do with closing your site or not.
