Thread regarding Enbridge Inc. layoffs

Good old Union Gas

Worked there for over 30 years. We had Issues in 2000 when we split into Union Gas and Union Energy. It was a shambles. Lost some respect for the company.

Now they are Enbridge and looks as if Enbridge are cutting jobs and escorting dedicated workers out the door. Just hearing rumours but 15 gone from head office. Heard maybe up to 50 in Waterloo (that is rumour as I cannot get anybody to talk!) I still have many friend there and I have been told of too people I respect have been escorted out. It was a wonderful company now its spread the fear tell nobody till you get a call to go somewhere (as in was in 2000) the room where I was sent to we were told we had a job, the others were walked or were old enough for a decent package.

It s---ed then I am sure it s---s now. Maybe some of the hatchet people from 2000 are on the hatchet list this time, now that would be some justice. When you sit back and look at your old place of work it was certain people who you worked with that matter not the company and the hatchet people who think by putting fear into everyone make for better production. Short term it might but it wears thin very quickly. My thoughts and prayers are with those of who were humiliated on that walk to the door. Keep your head!

Many years ago Union Gas was a wonderful place to work. Today's changes are just worsening a once great people company.

Consolidations re-orgs and mergers never benefit the average worker, although management tries to sell that narrative.
