Thread regarding Teradata Corp. layoffs

TD Next Lay-off is coming

As the company shifts its consulting focus to provide higher margin / higher value consulting services to its target market of “megadata” customers, 2019 consulting revenue is expected to decline approximately 15 percent to 20 percent versus 2018.

Reply @XwqR2MH-4tdu,

From what I heard from a colleague, that call from HR is notifying severed/laid-off employees that their final cheque and other documents (certificates, benefits, etc) are now available for pickup.

Terrible prospects for a once decent company. Product side won’t be impacted as much as the mismanaged consulting group (look at newly appointed leadership). Overall, a company that won’t exist in 3 yrs. legacy tech, awful mgmt and decling financials... all equal bad times. I haven’t even factored in low calibre workforce.

Yesterday several GDC people were contacted by HR in Philippine.

May be another cut is executed

Same story here, there are very few of my past colleagues still there. I heard in the last week they are actually asking certain folks to come back, realizing they may have cut too far in January. I can only believe that customer satisfaction has to be driving that. Company continues to shrink with continually changing strategy and go to market models and organization. Leadership in the Gartner reports are shrinking.

Next layoff is planned by Q2 ... 500 consultants before the PS spin off.

Cognizant is a potential buyer

As a former Teradata employee, I try to stay in touch with as many of my old colleagues as possible. Of the 10-12 people I stay in touch with over there (was 50+ one year ago), most expect to get laid off in the next round. Moral appears to be at an all time low and every single one of them is looking for jobs outside of Teradata. Some are biding their time hoping for a good severance package offer before leaving. It truly was a great place to work a few years back. Sad how the company has been run into the ground by previous and current C-suite.

High priced employees are being jettisoned regardless of their expertise. Even high performing sales people let go in the last round of layoffs. The Southeast was decimated. With the latest run up in stock price despite declining revenues, it's clear that Wall Street expects the company to be acquired relatively soon. I guess I'll hold on to the few shares of TDC I have left.

I’m worried about this. Do you know where services will be impacted?

USA, GDC or EMEA ?
