Now the Penneys appliance customers will be frolicking into Sears stores. A nice step to regaining the top dog spot in appliance sales. I have a 50 year old Kenmore fridge still chugging along in the basement keeping my cases of beer nice and cold think I'll go down and get one.

ha ha they are frolicking like the frootcakes on chicago's north side.
Penneys appliance customers are famous for their frolicking. It's a wonder to behold.
Oh back to the days where sears had a 40 percent appliance share..... now it’s like 14 and never to rebound.
When Penneys started selling appliances all the articles said what a threat it would be to Sears. But Sears whooped them good.
pennys just recently got back into appliances not long ago- i have not verified this is even true..they were never a player in appliances the second time around- sears staying open just magnifies the problems that got them were they are...now with higher costs of supply chain. They are still Brick and mortar base with a .com presence that is very unimpressive at best.
The job losses are because not enough people shop at Sears. As long as SYW is giving c-ap away I’ll shop there and I’m well south of 50.
@sue You are correct on the rankings. Sears is a very distant 4th. This could be an excellent opportunity for Sears to rebound. Sears will never be #1 again especially with the small format and number of stores that Eddie wants to go forward with. Hopefully corporate won't screw it up.
Once Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez starts protesting against Eddies tactics and the job loses Sears can give up any idea of getting anyone under 50 into their stores. AOC is just looking for a good example to use to show corporate greed and how workers are affected. Give it time AOC is ready to pounce on the SHC/ESL/hedge fund story.
There aren't enough Sears for customers to flock to. Lowes is number one in appliances follow by Home Depot and I think Best Buy comes in third place. Sears can't and won't be competitive in the appliance business.
A sh--ty store line that has been out of touch for years will not bring in people to another sh--ty store line that has been out of touch for years.
The sears store I decided to quit from was down to a handful of
appliance sales associates. Rebounding wont take JCP leaving
the market. Strong leadership, solid vendor supply chain, retaining
good appliance salesfolks, stop cutting commissions....that is a
couple places to start.
penneys found its harder to sell appliances than they thought.....leave it to the pros at sears !
not in my town it wont be a win
Nope those customers will go to Lowe's or Home Depot before they even think about going to Sears.
Certainly good news, but not all that significant since JCP was basically irrelevant in the appliance market anyway
