As you ponder your final decision today, please consider the legacy of your role and the consequences your decision will have for years to come. As noted in several poignant posts below by @XvExfno, @Xu9sMBf, and countless others, you have an opportunity to do what's right by law, by employees, by pensioners, by vendors, by creditors, and by customers. And most recently, by the children of St. Jude.
Please don't be influenced by the theatrics and financial shell games Eddie Lampert has used to hide the harm his fiduciary infidelity has caused over these past 13yrs. As an employee and beneficiary of the life-saving treatments pioneered at institutions like St. Jude, the recent news has hit me hard - as I'm sure it did you as well. This is just the latest in a long series of corrupt and unethical misdeeds by Eddie Lampert's regime. His mismanagement and self-interest knows no bounds - to the point where even embezzling customer charity offerings is not off limits.
Turning Sears over to the very person who destroyed it only guarantees more of the same. Please do what's right. Us employees will be ok and better off when this painful process is over - especially knowing Eddie Lampert can do no more harm.
