A lot of very professional people here, and not whiners. This thread is a place where it is OK and you are invited to share your story if you want to, among your peer group that understands your frustration and anxiety and disappointment. I know I'm not very pleased about mine.

Just saw another good mind go. He would catch things meticulously when others tried the lame and lax. Important things.
That is the way automotive is in Detroit. Been laid off a bunch of times as a contract employee. Never for low performance. That is just the way it is. Ford, GM, FCA have been losing market share over the last 30 years. Lucky I only have 10 more years then retire. Not sure they will survive. The competition is huge.
OK got it- zillions of posts. I already posted elsewhere on this site but I'll presume to do it again.
Not complicated. Recruited from way out of town based on advanced skills they now say they want, with golden credentials. Sold in part by a fine 401K deal. Other strong written offers in my hand. Relo'd to Detroit (pissing off the other guys for good as GM d--g it out). Laid off with, as I've seen, other very good people, before the vest. Had been skeptical of GM and Detroit for decades; listened to the story and made the jump. You can imagine my conclusions.
i think he/she is saying "gold" as it's used in online chats as something that's 'very valuable' to the users or visitors - i dont think they refer to money
#gold? not familiar. Money making opportunity you mean?
Has a potential to turn into a #gold thread, OP we'd need you to start with your experience first...
