Thread regarding CVS layoffs

Pharmacist Cascade Meetings

Pharmacists, why are we attending cascade meetings unpaid? Why don’t we all just not attended.

If we are salaried that’s fine but why are we told to make up the hours we missed to attend the meetings? The meeting is part of our salaried hours.

It can’t be both ways. Until we do something about it we will continue to be taken advantage of

Except cvs already controls too much of our lives! No work/life balance! Cvs HAS to have it's limits!! Your job is your job, NOT your life. Cvs makes us feel that if we're not working at the store then we're doing something wrong. A day off is evil in corporates eyes...

Just don’t have any meetings problem solved! Cvs has waaaay too many meetings anyway. At cvs we have meetings about meetings and conference calls about conference calls. So just eliminate the meetings and conference calls and your problems are solved! Besides we don’t have time for all this baloney we have too much work to do! Meetings and conference calls just get in the way of work.

Let me help all the non pharmacists...

If the meeting is scheduled on your day to work at the store you have to go to the meeting and then make your hours back up in the store with whoever you traded with so you are working your normal base in the store in addition to the hours you missed bc you were at an unpaid meeting bc there are no hours in the budget for the pharmacist to be at a meeting.

If store managers aren’t counting these meetings towards your weekly base then you’re doing something wrong. Every store manager I see in the district counts meetings towards their base hours whether it’s cascade meetings or normal district meetings or whatever meeting you want to call it. Thus why I directed this post at pharmacist and stated pharmacists are the only people in attendance not being paid

It doesn’t matter how much you get paid. Wake up people, stop getting taken advantage of. This company needs to realize it treats its employees like sh--. Should not have to go to a meeting on your day off. I always go over on hours the week of a meeting. Pharmacy & front store need to stick together. Get your bonus & get the hell out of this company.

Cvs is notorious for taking advantage of their employees! It’s the worst kept secret in retail! They treat us like c-ap, so is anyone surprised that corporate might make you go to a meeting unpaid on your day off?

What are you talking about, you work your normal hours and on your day off you go to the meeting. No vacation time required

You don’t have to put in vacation and if your DL does file a complaint. You get paid a salary your getting your base regardless how many hours a week you work.

Funny, store managers are salary and guess what! It is our day off used for the meetings also. Do you think demand hours go up that week for us? No so we have to use it as our day off. Btw, the pharmacy does run without you there as there is another pharmacist on duty. Stop complaining.

What pharmacists make is irrelevant to the issue about not being taken advantage of by your employer.

Everyone at the meeting from the DL to the store managers to the scheduler or admin is paid to be there or has an option to make up their time bc the front store can run without them being present in the building.

These meetings are more than once per year. We just had a meeting about 2019 goals. We made lemonade before that. We have conference calls scheduled before the store opens.

Companies will continue taking if you continue to let them

You make 6 figures. The extra 9 hours a year you have to do a year for meetings will not kill you. Yes, you're being a baby.

If you don’t swap with your partner you are told you have to use vacation hours to cover your time missed. Is that salary or hourly?

I don’t think not wanting to be taken advantage of By one of the largest companies in amarica makes people a “bunch of babies”

Just don’t make up the hours, force them to get coverage...you tell them your partner won’t swap or is unable
