I have to laugh at this. Some of these comments are so insane, so mis informed. We were all most definitely spoiled by the Dolan family. Since apparently people here get their info from google(and the internet never lies), google what companies had half of the perks we did. Does it s---, yes, but, they sold us off. This is a business, not a family business anymore. Companies all over are trimming. Fiber techs, did you google their job description also or just their salary? To be informed properly, in a union shop, us LTA folks would never even get to see glass as it’s a different craft. If more were needed, they could contract it out.....as it is written in the contract and we would lose the knowledge and experience we have gained. There is a LOT more to fiber than splicing, and I hope to be able to get that opportunity also. Oh, job security...none of the contracts guarantee any of our jobs, it does say that senior guys can bump lower guys is layoffs do occur though....that’s in the contract.... so before I decide my vote, tell me how paying dues is going to guarantee me anything?

Altice end game is to get rid of all non-union in-house technicians.... you see other shops taking actions to secure their employment by unionizing. wake the phuck up already.
So are You management or a POS suit? Let’s just say for laughs your an employee? Obviously you are very well paid because while fiber techs get paid well over 30 an hour and some even around over 35, you’ve got guys making between 15-24 dollars an hour. Get your facts straight before you start typing dude. You sound like a total dip sh!t..
Hey, I’m confused, I did google fiber tech pay. I know our fiber techs make double what the first result on google was. So I’m wondering, what exactly are you making an argument for? Because you saying “get what you deserve” I guess we should all ask for pay cuts. Which I’m sure the company would have no problem with!
Make sure when reviews come out you get what you deserve! Remember what an average fiber tech gets even for touching fiber! Google it!
Seriously? Why do we want to know what will be in the contract? I don’t know, because only a r----d would accept a contract without knowing what was in it! What’s even offered? What are our options? Should we just blindly follow the self appointed leaders in the shops?

Things changed the day the French invaded Cablevision. Dolan’s sold us down the river, like the livestock that management sees us as. Let’s show them we have a voice! Unite, and send frenchy a message loud and clear! We want our time off back, we want our christmas bonus back, but most important we want our job security, and dignity back. Enough of these supervisors treating us like we’re expendable. Who are they to think they’re better than us. Let’s vote and get our lives back.
Obviously they didn't get all those things back. That's not how it works. Sounds like typical mngmt word twisting. If all they got was 4 years of no layoffs it would be enough.
Dont forget alitce/mngmnt are the ones who took away the sick days ,the personal days, the Christmas bonus ,the sick and personal payout ,even the damn bagels.
NOW all of a sudden they are concerned where my 2% dues go.
Of course they want to keep "direct communication " they are free to cut and trim anything they want whenever they want regardless of who it affects.

What's in the 4 year deal? Did they get back the 3 sick days and 1 holiday that was taken away? Are the medical benefits cost going down? Any increase in salary? Did all employees get to vote on contract this time ? Give the inquiring minds the whole truth.....
