Director / principal backing each other

Leaders are a leader for certain reason. They need to be humble and accommodating.

In my group they harass everyone except my senior director . It’s my way or get out of the team says the principal. We will ensure you are screwed by the VP. U better stay good with me and my director friend

Having a jerk on team who shoves others around and belittles is a good way of keep the peeps in line and distracted...........cant upset things too much with all the gravy flowing..............

Same situtation in my team too. My director is HOPELESS.It is ok to be technically incompetent. But supporting each other and ensuring to play politics strategically

Its a technical company can they not move around these directors or prinicipals to not gang up against the actual engineers doing the work.

qualcomm is very small world. There are better teams and better people outside. Anyway company is not doing great. Dont waste your energy and efforts for such insecured, micromanaging, narcissists.

Principal doesnt even know how to set goals. You will ever be given feedback that you didnot do as per expectation. Expectation is ever moving goalpost because goals are never set. Then he can use your juniors to file your review but he himself never asks his subordinates to write review for him. You will be paired up with juniors ALWAYS. So you will not grow atall in those team. If you are interested in growth, dont join Qualcomm. Its Pigeon Hole Company. You will be tightening same screw whole year, and can be proud of building a ship.

If you can harass everyone then where is your leaderhsip? Where are you being humble and accommodating? Set example first then talk your cheap talk. We dont need such leader. We dont need leader who is insecured and never trusting. You can throw us from team but we can screw company. Sorry dont expect loyalty for free. You need to change behavior and be accommodating yourself if you want peers to follow. Else get lost. You cant expect and tell others dont tell outsiders, we will . You need to make sure that your behavior is such that we CAN tell something good about you.
