You are right! That Don Savalas has been talking about how both parties with the Clintons and Podestas and Al Sharpton and all the republicans have been soft shoe shuffling over the for-profits for years now.

It warms my heart to see that in this day and age the politicians can at least agree on something to "get things done."

The only reason EDMC was so anxious to sell quickly and see the schools turn to nonprofit was the fear of HRC being elected president. Pres. Clinton served on the board of for profit schools that donated millions to the Clinton Foundation until Hillary took up Bernie’s cause of free college tuition and closing for profit schools. If HRC has won, for profits across the USA would have been forced into receivership sin 2017.

If EDMC hadn’t acted out of fear- and greed- AU, SU and Ai could have been a successful set of schools.

It doesn't surprise me that they did not know their legal obligations to the DOE.

I remember when they moved to the track system, so students would be able to take breaks from school and did not realize that they students needed to stay registered consistently in order to comply with FAFSA. They still did it.

I also remembered when they laid off a significant amount of faculty and were out of compliance with Middle States. They still did it (and remained out of compliance).

I spent a lot of time being shocked that they never got penalized by their bad behavior. They probably would have went under if the US had elected a different president in 2016, who kept the gainful employment laws. I am glad it might be catching up to them now.
