Pardon me for posting, given that I am not an employee of DCEH, and forgive me if what I'm about to ask is common knowledge to you. My son goes to one of the AI’s that is rumored to be closing. He has less than a year until graduation and my question would be what would happen with his education if the AI closes before he finishes. Would he be able to transfer to another school or does everything that he has accomplished goes down the drain?

1ifd most jobs require a bachelors degree - so it might as well be in the field they apply for.
Both are for profit, that says it all. Stay clear.
Not that it matters since AiP isn’t closing but RMCAD is in Colorado and is already set up to accept students from Ai.
Academy is similar to Ai but not a diploma mill, most AU students wouldn’t be able to pass the courses, as bad as it might seem it is more rigorous and students have better portfolios than Ai.
Honestly
No one needs a damn degree for arts these days. There is courses online for a fraction the cost.
Lynda.com
Udemy Academy
Just
To mention a few.. most employers look at the portfolio and skills.
Academy of Arts and Rocky Mountain College?
The Academy of Arts ( which you no doubt represent ) is a for-profit hell hole too and nice try using RMC as a cover and ridiculous option in freaking Billins, Montana.
You see folks when you're desperate the wolves come sniffing around..
1kbl yes there are quite a few actually
Has anyone from AiPOD been accepted to a college that is not a non or for profit ? A real traditional colege?
Or won’t they take you?
Students at AiPOD please please withdraw from classes now. You can withdraw without charges or minimal charges until February 1.
Save your money. Transfer.
Try applying to Academy of Arts University or Rocky Mountain College. They are offering discounts to AiP-OD students.

Hi I truly highly recommend your son to not sign anythint and Do NOT transfer to any other diploma mill.. he needs to file for Borrower Defense Payment with the Department of Education. Any loans would out on Administrative Forbereance, and since the school closed before he is done his loans could be forgiven. On facebook look up the group “I Am Ai” , over 8k students helping each other to fight this scam. Good luck to you and your son.
It would be completely up to the school he’d choose to transfer to that would decide what credits may transfer. From personal experience with AU and Ai very few colleges will accept transfer credits from for-profit (now supposedly non-profit) colleges. Traditional universities view these schools as diploma mills.
He may have to start over. An AA from a community college is a great place to start. Then move on to a BS if he needs it.
Try. Just try. He has nothing to lose by applying to several schools and maybe someone will transfer in some of the credits, there are limits to transfer credits depending on the regional accreditation agency.
There is no guarantee the Ais moves under the Educational Principles Foundation will remains open or beable to offer your son any benefit professionally.
Good luck to you both.
1) as another poster alluded to, probably not the best place to get answers, so tune out any nonsense/irrational stuff.
2) since he is so close to finishing, depending on his program it will be able to be completed either in online format classes, which will be administered from a campus that isnt closing- or some type of transfer agreement will be worked out to another local school.
3) continue with classes at least through this session, withdrawing before a plan is given to that campuses student could affect the “online option” i explained.
4) the credits taken are still valid, the “thing” that makes the credits transferable is the accreditation of the school; not the school itself. So if a campus closes or a school closes the education received is still valid up to the point of closing
-im someone who is staying with the orginazation through a non-closing campus, and in all sincerity most if not all of us are heartbroken about whats happening to faculty and students that is out of our control.
As a student who also had very few units left until graduation, and considering I have gone through this before, I suggest looking to Film Schools that are nearby, lucky from me I’m at Ai-Hollywood so there are more film schools. And basically meet with the schools and bring unofficial and official if you can transcripts, so you can see what classes can transfer. You also have the option to ask for loan forgiveness and possibly tuition reimbursement if your son paid out of pocket. Though, if he does that, likely all of his credits will disappear. One thing I have considered is if many classes don’t transfer then possibly transferring to another film school for an AA and then transferring to a 4 year college. Either way whatever classes do not get transferred to wherever he goes, I would look into loan forgives and tuition reimbursement for the classes not transferable. I’m sorry he’s going through it but I recommend you both just not give up and stay dedicated, hard work pays off. Also, studentaid.ed.gov might also be a good place to start as far as your questions go.
Best of luck.
Dear Good and Concerned Father, (are you sitting down?)
This forum is really not the place to get any on the level or definitive information regarding your very real concerns. So the blabbering about any subject contained herein is to be categorized in the grain of salt folder. The best approach to finding out if any of your sons credits are transferable would be to contact the next "reputable" college your son wishes to attend and hope for the best.
To you and your son I truly wish you all good things. All I can say is: Who knew that conspiratorial gangsterism could have gotten this far in infiltrating higher education?
What state or campus is he at? There are attempts to work out transfer agreements with local schools, so it may depend on what kinds of arrangements are made.
