With the U.S. at the top of the list of countries that will be affected by the coming SAP layoffs, I was hoping somebody might know which areas are getting hit - and is Newtown Square among them?
I'm assuming HQ will not be spared, but I guess I can still hope...
Asia - some employees were informed by managers already, more expected through rest of this week
US employees who are affected are being communicated by immediate manager and HRBP this week. They followed WARN act. Package varies per your pay grade and level.
There are folks from Consulting getting hit. HEC team is consolidating. Some were given 2 weeks to look for alternative roles. More letters expected this week, month end of Feb’19
DBS and CoEs are being hit. CoEs are standard services. Don’t need customer facing expensive US-based resources to execute. DBS margin is lowest in company. 23%.
Voluntary retirement is the pre-cursor to the cut. They will try to shake out as many as they can before having to make hard decisions to cut. They will be cutting the LoB to support their strategy for a generalist + COE model.
Japan and Germany - prob voluntary retirement due to the unions / government regulation
There are some news site that say about ten per cent of the layoff employees will be from India. I don't even see such a huge outcry when Indians go to other countries on working visas and cause ten per cent job losses to the locals in those countries. What goes around comes around.
