And there is no media coverage. Layoffs could have been avoided and Glens Falls Hospital could have been more generous. But, management is not good.

They definitely promise a lot up front but change the terms as time passes. Promise education coverage & bonuses but do not deliver. Medical benefits are horrible with high deductibles, very limited insurance participation from providers. To sign up for benefits they give a phone # to someone not in the hospital that never answers to complete promised benefits!
Day 30- No Bonus $ with excuses.
You’ll see... try signing up for benefits before starting, it is an unpaid gauntlet of hurdles only available during work hours & it’s considered not work related. No paid time off when mandated to follow employee health directives for symptom tracking. This was shocking as I thought NYS DOL mandated this during COVID.
PPE is a JOKE, nurses coughing on floors & “no one cares.”
They lay off professionals when the census drops?????
Glens Falls Hospital can’t be trusted.
If you’re a nurse or social worker or God help you, a lonely PT/OT…. If you have a family and bills to pay… don’t accept any employment offer from this hospital.
Promise to pay education costs up front for RN to get a Bachelors Degree, 30 day sign on bonus $5000, sign up for ACLS & PALS they wouldn’t pay for it & I had to request unpaid days off. Holidays ARE NOT PAID at Glens Falls Hospital!!!!! NONE! Thanksgiving dinner for staff…. But we had to pay $5 each (suggested donations). You will get some PTO but won’t be able to use it for 90 days!
Get your flu shot by last Friday or get fired…. Makes ya sick- they didn’t care. So I had to call in to work obviously with a fever, nausea & diarrhea… they made me come in sick to get swabbed when I told them it was going to make me sick! You have to be 48 hours without symptoms to return to work… on that day you’re told by employee health to NOT SWIPE in when coming in early for vital signs and a paper to give your manager… who, btw is pi---d off, didn’t pay ya for doing all the “right” things as told to by HR & Employee Health…. Terminated like a street rat & escorted off Glens Falls Hospital property with the only reasons they claim were someone accused me of rolling my eyes, while facing a wall & computer??? X-ray vision? I would have happily admitted if I did, but I said nothing and kept searching for a ur--e result in the computer while getting screamed at over the phone by a family member afraid of Sending her relative to a nursing home by EMS in 15 minutes. I was professional, never sassed anyone, stayed focused & another employee craving drama & attention turned into a big complaint of me rolling my eyes. It wasn’t the first time he lied, but no proof was needed, just his overly animated spin where he gets to save the day & toot his ho-n while stabbing others in the back. He got his nose in everyone’s business & gossiping on no info ever given to him… just makes it up & the director can’t see through him to do the dr-g test he needs from pills he pops in the morning.
Ridiculous. This is healthcare going into 2023.
I was terminated based on his unsubstantiated make believe stories he spun…. Less than 2 weeks before Christmas?
Warning to good medical workers… don’t work here. It’s all smoke & lies without an ounce of remorse for what they’re doing.
Better get a ton of agency staff!
They lied, repeatedly.
Merry Christmas!
Two of the 3 women running the hospital are hiding the truth from the public. How they demand and said we should work more with less when they all got parts of a $1.5 million dollar bonus. Twisting the facts about being in the red. Spending $500,000 a year to keep in the delusional Magnet Status dream they have. They have hired outside departments to run different areas of the hospital laying off staff and hiring many travel nurses that cost a lot more than the staff they already have. Pushing mandatory portfolios and then being unfair when judging them so the staff RN does not get the extra $2 an hour. Getting rid of experienced nurses and hiring new nurses and the experienced nurses aren't there to help them in the learning process. They got rid of almost all of the LPN's after they promised them they had 5 years to work on getting their RN. Talking about cutting off their nose to spite their face!!!!!! They need to go and the Board of Directors along with them. Blaming the Post Star for what Schugrue started then banning the Post Star from the hospital and not allowing the free newspapers for the patients. what type of people are they. These are the people supposedly running a health care center. This isn't even the half of it. They are an uncaring bossy dictatorship. Do for them to make them look good while we the workers are the glue that holds the hospital together. Shameful. They did the same at Ellis Hospital and I wish they had stayed there. They are bringing down the morale and sending the Hospital in a downward spiral. Please somebody do something before there is no hospital...
They are hiding facts from the public.
