GE Greenville has recently watched many of their buddies get the ax or at least transferred out of Greenville manufacturing. Many buddies remain but for the first time in their long careers they are afraid. Their leadership structure is being dismantled. They all know it is now just a waiting game. Also, GE continues to shuffle people from position to position as if that is beneficial to GE. Nobody becomes experts at anything as they are too focused on their next career move.

Welcome to GE. Its ran by a bunch of incompetent id--ts protecting each other and bonding at the bottom of a beer on work hours on the work tab. Talent, skill, hardwork and ethics mean nothing. I mean look at who they have running sourcing in Schenectady. No one knows how people like that keep their job... Ive heard horror stories about the holes HR digs to hide the ones that are protecting each other.
It took GE 16 years to figure out that their CEO didn't actually do anything of value... I think the OP is safe for a while.
Buddy system....its call networking. You most likely are some sh--ty worker nobody likes. This the best job you'll ever have. I'm sure when you were hired GE was still biggest enough that you could hide and no one would really notice you good or bad. Dont b--ch to loud and draw attention to yourself they may figure out you dont actually do anything of value.
Moving up in GE is a team effort.
MAGA ..... Enjoy . If all divisions of GE had a a-- kissing contest Greenville site has already won. It's ok not to have any knowledge of what you build just ask any manager a direct question about any subject. Your answer will be, well get back to you soon. But ask any of em about beer ,PlayStation or golf n you can talk for hrs.
The GE Shuffle is nothing new. Punch your ticket and move on. Leave the mess you've made for the next schmuck to clean up or sweep under the rug.
