Does anybody know if any US locations will be impacted with layoffs today?
I'm nervous because it's the end of the month, and it's been mentioned several times that the last week of January is usually when layoffs happen at VMware.
Add to that layoffs in other countries...

yes the US was affected. My friend was just laid off in Palo Alto.
3 SLED core ISRs, 3 Healthcare core ISRs, 5 core Commercial ISRs, 2 core Enterprise ISRs were let go. All in Austin office. All these positions were inside sales. Rumor has it alignment is to make the field more happy, and turn the inside sales role into more of an ISA role, instead — but not confirmed.
Annual event at VMware! I have heard at least one person from partner org. I heard a rumor it was 600-1000, but that is not confirmed.
6 out of 7 Inside NSX ISR roles eliminated. 4 Inside vSAN ISR roles eliminated. I was in GEH, and was a core ISR, that was let go today. All this in the Austin office.
Are tey happening mainly in sales positions? Is engineering safe?

I'm a former VMW employee and was just told by a current employee that layoffs are happening to Sales org in Austin.

Yep just got laid off, restructuring of team, did not know how many company wide and couldn’t say if I am the only one in my team. 2 months severance plus a week per year and week per year employed
There are layoffs happening today I know of several in the US that have happened already.
I know of at least two people from the Horizon Cloud Services group in the Burlington, MA office being let go today.
