Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

The real damage

Paying for useless people is cheap. The real damage is when these people spend massive money on counter productive projects and drive the wrong strategy forward.

The solution is maintain the pyramid and cut number of middle management by half.

Couldn't agree more. A precise post from @XmmBiqM-zxn that caught the essence of the matter

Then you have the case one guy is working and understanding everything, and he or she needs to explain to multiple people managers, project mangers, project analyst on the issue, who gets no credit from his work, and becomes the next lay-off target

When management has no idea why things don't work. They add project managers, program managers, special review task force, all sort of reviewers on top of existing function managers. More and more meetings and track sheets created. Real competent people get burned out to write something to show they "meet" milestones but no real thing get down.

Bottom line --- 10 nm still not work.
