What kind of coward CEO/Chairman hides out on his yacht/Florida estate for all the hard stuff while bankruptcy is going on, and towards the end says, okay, done with vacation, ready to be CEO again! No wonder the Autozone kidnapping thing went down the way it did.

The kind of CEO whose clueless management style lost $12B and drove the company into bankruptcy in the first place
Because he is the Devil.
Eddie should have manned up and showed himself around HE during all of this.
1ixu....That is the most pathetic statement I have seen trying to defend the lack of leadership skills demonstrated by Eddie Lampert.
Sears is not Exxon.....Exxon is not bankrupt.....Exxon's management style obviously does not apply to Sears because Exxon is not in the toilet like Sears Holdings is.
It takes a lot more than one man to run a company. I don’t really care if the CEO is remote. That actually happens a lot. Did you know the Exxon Mobil CEO stays very isolated from the rest of the company? It’s like that by design. Still a successful and solid company. Who cares?! It takes a team to win and it seems from the people on this board that not a lot of people WANT to win!
The same kind of CEO/Chairman who is also bidding on the assets of the bankrupt company he was CEO of and is Chairman of. He’s an insider, and because of his bid cannot take any part in the decision making process until he takes full control of the company.
Autozone kidnapping thing? You mean the "Hit Men" who didn't kill him and then p-ss-d their pants about the kidnapping and let him go?
He's always done the CEO thing remotely from the yacht/mansion anyway. Emails, phone calls, and video conferencing can get a lot done these days... the problem is he chooses the wrong things to get done.
It's good to be the King
