Accreditation Action
January 15, 2019
Staff acted on behalf of the Commission to request a supplemental information report, due January 25, 2019, addressing recent developments at the institution which may have implications for current and future compliance with Standard II: Ethics and Integrity; Standard III: Design and Delivery of the Student Learning Experience; Standard IV: Support of the Student Experience; Standard VII: Governance, Leadership, and Administration; Requirements of Affiliation 6, 12, and 14; Related Entities Policy; Substantive Change Policy and Procedures; and Teach-Out Plans and Agreements Policy and Procedures.
Well. Guess we have to wait until Monday to see if we have classes to teach. We might get a really long weekend.
2rji thank you - those people should have been at the meeting so we would learn the truth.
I was supposed to be a returning student and they told me this morning that AiO is no longer accepting new or returning students and have a plan for current students only but that classes aren’t starting Monday but at a “later date”. I also spoke with a director in the finance department this afternoon, they are officially closing the online division.
A teach out plan was not discussed on the 1/24 call.
Cooper has a reputation for not always being forthcoming with truth and facts to faculty, she tells us what she thinks we need to know, no more.
Monday said MSCHE knew all of this was happening, they’re trying to keep accreditation until the last title iv check clears.
Monday claimed all of the firing decisions came from DCEH and he had no idea they were happening or which employees were being fired. When asked he said he still didn’t know how many had been fired.
Cooper said we have offer classes for current students and except for new student classes all of the 1/28 classes were a go.
We’ll see on Monday or Tuesday if we have another 5 1/2 weeks at AiO or if the party’s over.
I love how some are still pretending that we were always acting in students' bests interests. Really? I mean look in the mirror. Do it right now. Tell yourself that everything that you ever did was in the students' best interests and in no way your own as you stare into the depths of your soul. What do you feel?
Guilty? Numb? Maybe once you get another job you should look into a psychologist that will help you unlock that empathy that you are so adamant that you had but seem to be missing.
Thoughts and prayers.
We’ll find out Monday. Or Tuesday, grades are due Monday for the 12/13 session start.
What I heard was Monday said it was NOT a go, but that JC said it was.
We were told the 1/28 session is still a go.
I wonder when they'll update the websites to reflect this, as they are still showing that they are permitting students to enroll in the 01/28 session.
