Thread regarding West Corp. layoffs

Lack of training

I’m not at West for a very long time, but enough to see the degree of disorganization and the poor treatment of workers. They rush with the training and give you the bare minimum of what you need to know and after that, you are on your own. At the same time, they don’t hesitate to give you unrealistic, practically unachievable goals. Who in their right mind could operate in those conditions?

Very true. So many talented employees have left and are in the process of leaving. The individuals replacing them will have only a small part of the knowledge these employees had. It's not their fault. It's the training! The sad thing is the turnover will only increase with new hires due to this lack of training and the overall poor working conditions.

There is no focus on training at all. This is the time that the company should be utilizing trainers as much as possible due to turnover. We have lost some of our best trainers/employees due to layoffs and leaving for better opportunities. When will they realize that their employees make the company? They are their best asset. It’s certainly not the products! Does anyone even realize how much knowledge and experience has walked out the door!?

You hit the nail on the head! The training is 10% of what it used to be.
