Thread regarding Dream Center Education Holdings, LLC (DCEH) layoffs

Receivership = layoffs?

So, was it only the schools in receivership that were affected? If so, I guess we know why they didn't move on to be managed by EPF.

Included in receivership:

· DCEH

· Argosy University (including all campuses in teach-out)

o Western State College of Law

o The Art Institute of California – Hollywood (a campus of Argosy University)

o The Art Institute of California – San Diego (a campus of Argosy University)

· The Art Institute of Las Vegas

· The Art Institute of Pittsburgh (to include its online programs)

· The Art Institute of Seattle

· All Art Institutes currently in teach-out

· South University of Ohio (Cleveland Campus)

· South University of Michigan (Novi Campus)

DCEH bought the schools in good faith. EDMC did not do full disclosure of the debt.

Check out this article. Had DCEH not done receivership it would have destroyed DCEH and collapsed all of the schools.

2msk no not yet anyways, but not enrolling new students.

No one knew this was going to happen a year ago - at least not Faculty and Staff -- everyone thought dceh was going to be a good thing - then they backhanded everyone.

Very sorry - join I Am Ai on FB - lots of students there

Just one obvious question, if someone can answer: Is the art institute of pittsburgh online division closed? Do I have to return photography equipment? Are the loans going to be forgiven, like with everest college. I sincerely hope they are. Especially if I cant transfer credits. From what I am understanding now is that they enrolled me a year ago knowing they were going to close. What a scam. I see lawsuits looming.

All kinds of schools were impacted. I'm at an EPF school and we lost ten people.

Make sure to post announcements in your Auo Suo AiO online classes today with information on the receivership and the mass layoffs of 1/22/2019 including important departments to students like Career Services.

Students need the opportunity to research new colleges that will accept their credits while AiO is still accredited, MSCHE will be canceling accreditation by March 2019.

Students. You need to go into campus and start demanding answers. And if they give you the typical, “we don’t know”, or, “ this campus is fine for now”, then demand to speak with someone who has real answers. Is your school still fully accredited? Can they guarantee that? Is it closing? Will credits transfer? Are they still accepting new students knowing they are closing? Are all of the services you were promised when enrolled, the services you are Paying for, still available? Because if you don’t ask, noone is going to come out and tell you. You have every right to know these things given the amount you will be in debt for years, and so you can make the best decision for your future.

SUO received severe impacts today and we were not in a receivership. DCEH corporate as well as the “receiver” representative were the ones who communicated the immediate layoff.

In receivership, the only one who makes any decisions is the receiver in charge. DCEH did not decide layoffs.

They let go of career services advisor in all campuses and the excuse was stupid as hell. This is beyond ridiculous. It is time for us all to move on. I thought about sticking to the sunken ship, but have your backup plan for sure ready to go now!!!

Ai San Diego was not let go. They only let go of two people total. They let career service and our academic advisor. We are still standing but do not know how long.

Layoffs where very large among the DCEH schools, then ones going to EPF had some, but no where near as large (aside from south online phx)
