Thread regarding State Street Corp. layoffs

So who is safe?

Are the AVP’s? Don’t they need a few “top” ppl yo run the show?

Don’t they need workers already trained? Are they going to just shut it down in Boston completely? Aren’t the elected officials concerned in the least? This is a major employer in the commonwealth I’m just thinking there’s going to be a big void and no one seems to notice. Are thet that clueless to the real world ramifications? Or just so entitled and protected in their own coffin they don’t give a d a m n...no need to answer. All rhetorical questions

some people are in severe denial about the seriousness of the amount of job losses coming in 2019.

check back with us on January 1, 2020 and tell us how your 'job' at STT is...

good luck, you're going to need it.

Obvious troll. You forget there are significant footprints in several other countries, such as 5 locations in the tax-domicile, Ireland.

I doubt even 20% of posters here ever worked at STT.

No one is safe. NO ONE.

By 2020 STT will have been bought out or merged with a more technology advanced company. They will get rid of all duplicates jobs. They already told you 8500 jobs gone in 2019, and we all know this number will be much higher... rest of the ‘jobs’ will be moved overseas.

You’ve been given the message, the doors are closing. And no, they don’t give a rats a-- about you or anyone else, nor does government.

What don’t you understand?

Are you simply too lazy to find another job?

I was an MD in Fund Admin and left voluntarily in the summer of 2018 for a much better position. Before I left, the plan was to have 20% of the workforce in Boston and 80% in India. The idea was that the thinking/strategy and client facing RM teams would be in Boston and everything else would be in India.

If you are in Boston and are not part of the "thinking/strategy" part of the business or part of the RM teams, you will be gone by the end of the year.
