Thread regarding Charter Communications Inc. layoffs

Layoffs and changes coming to Charter Communications

Pending union decertification in New York City, corporate plans on contracting more work out in the first quarter of 2019. Company will cut workforce by laying off between 600 and 800 field techs and have the remainder reapply for their positions at salaries between $15 to $33, most to be hired at the lower end. Altice created ATS which is an all contractor workforce. Spectrum is exploring this work model which would decrease operating expenses and show increase to profits. Techs will be transitioned to this new entity and will be notified in advance of the changes to their benefits plans as they benefit package will change. There will be a decrease in company contribution to 401k while the new entity starts up. Employees may see increases in their health care contributions which the company launches it's new entity.

This is too important not to have its own thread. Originally posted by @VTqx1Dk-1klui.

This information is brought to you by a former Plant Technician striker that decided to move on when the truth was clear.

Some may think I'm a manager, wrong! Some may think I'm a company man, wrong! Read my title VERY closely. "FORMER" plant technician striker that "MOVED ON!"

I stopped believing lying local3 representatives along time ago. Instead I started believing in myself and moved on.

My purpose is simple. Demand the truth. Sometimes it's hard to accept, but easy to see. In the end it will set you free!

So get ready. Almost time for the show to begin, get your popcorn:

This will be the outcome of the scheduled meeting by local3 for charter/spectrum strikers

"We tried our best to negotiate but we recommended you go back to charter/spectrum before the decertification vote to save your jobs."

Is there any questions? None, OK!

Meeting adjourned!!!!!

This is typically done by unions before they concede, to make sure they walk away clean with no blood on their hands.

Either way "union reps" continue to get paid during and after the strike.

That's why the local 3 contractors worked during the strike, they became more valuable.

Congratulations you got screwed!!!

Local 3 is a flaming pile of dog p--p. They took my dues and let me starve out on strike. While medical bills were piling up, I got no help from them. All they told me was to stay strong and keep holding on. That didn't pay the bills. That didnt help several folks from keeping their homes. Lost homes, repoed cars, bills piling up, wasn't what people were promised. Local 3 sold dreams, and delivered c-ap. A Card members were all they cared about. Not to mention while we are on strike they had local contractors doing our jobs! How did that make any sense?! Then when confronted about it, they told me to not worry about it and stay strong. Are you kidding me? Ever since I came back, everyone has treated me fine, with respect, and the company welcomed me back with no problems. From what I see all you have to do is your job and you dont have anything to worry about. Local 3 is trash.

This is because they look at us as a bunch of dumb cable jockeys. The low wage mostly high school and GED or dropout educations. They need to cut costs to compete with verizons fiber and they aint looking to cut at the top...

Once that union is gone in NYC it will have a downward wage effect. If in house gets a pay cut just imagine what the sub contractors will be making..

But who is going to clean up all the sh-- run and go installs?
