Health Advocate (part of West Corp) recently sent out an email to its independent contractors informing them that they will be hired as employees.

I recently heard a rumor that there may have been a class action lawsuit with our contractors in California.

I just did some Google searching, and found this "ABC" law regarding misclassifying independent contractors instead of being employees.

Also, found a lawsuit regarding contractor misclassification and wage and hour issues from a telemarketing arm of West.

They're getting busted - in many different "silos" (as they love to say) - for wage and hour violations, specifically not paying overtime to non-exempt employees.
