Only a couple more weeks before people’s lives are turned upside down in Newark and Sacramento CA.
How many SALS going bye bye in California?
SAL's are across the US.
203 people let go across 75% of Continental US. More cuts to come from Upper Plains States, and California.
Office Depot isn't a good company to go to... why? They cut 600 Account Managers across all sectors in 2017, so they've already "right sized" themselves.
Look to your Independent Office Product Dealers >>>> Independent Suppliers Group has a good website for finding dealers

Good Luck everyone!
Staple only has room for components.
What is your component type?
yay!
AE positions are all getting let go. Probably 20 gone from my office.
As a former Staples employee and a product of the acquisition layoff, Office Depot is thriving and looking for good employees that Staples is letting go. Just an FYI
Ocasio is like the perfect C officer for Staples. An immense amount of bullsht delivered to s---ers with a straight face, wide innocent eyes, deeply caring smile, while pocketing as much cash as possible and gutting the company.
I could be AOC, too, if I wanted to promise a lot of free stuff to everyone.
hahaha.
AOC is a modern icon. You're just some guy posting on TheLayoff.com/Staples. Remember that.
I told you so!
Don't worry, the Ocasio fruit loop girl will save you!
hhahahaha.
I was one of 11 in our office. Several left go yesterday as well. I saw the door closing...good talent gets noticed and picked up. So looking forward to being valued and compensated for my hard work.
Were are the folks that are always claiming that "predictions or speculation" are on this site. Well, to those fools, I say to you - This site has been right on with the timing and terminations of folks.
Very sad days lay ahead for those remaining. This company is doomed to failure and collapse.
Get out while you can. Sandy "Jesus" nor anyone in management of this failing organization (SP) gives a rats @ss about you. You are simply an expense and overpaid as far as they are concerned.
2.0 will turn your book of business into a piece of garbage. Only the @ss kissers will remain whole.
But in the end, its for not. The company will fail.
Good luck everyone. How many were let go today?
Females over and under 50 cut today too. I always liked Pepsi better.
Take off your tinfoil hat. They are letting go people who are in positions that are not a part of the new GTM strategy. Nothing more than that.
Seems to me mostly males over 50 being let go. I am saying from an overall perspective. Has anyone else noticed that? Reversed discrimination is still discrimination. They have let go of the people that really know their industry and kept the ones that don't know their industry. Make sense??
Sales people will land on their feet. They make so many contacts in the field. They will all be fine.
I have so many friends and ex colleagues that have been let go in the last two weeks. It is so sad! I was lucky enough to get out last year and find a job that I love. I know the job market is better, but it still takes a long time to find a job and the process is not easy to go through. Some people may say they should have seen it coming, but, I know the people that stuck in there were trying to do the right thing for their families and careers the best they knew how. I wish those that lost their jobs luck in their search and hope they too can find a better life outside of Staples. And, for those that have stayed....I really do hope it is going to be better than it ever was, but I do hope you take care of yourself by getting your resume together and keeping an eye on the job market. Network with your peers, and stay connected.

You must be far removed from SBA if you haven't heard of them
What are SALs and AEs? Where are they based?
For reasons unknown or not mentioned, 35-45% of the facilities AE teams are gone from various areas. Some SALs too.
And so it goes. How many, where and what was the criteria for the layoffs?
