There is nothing fair about PTO. We lost sick time and personnel time in that deception. 100,000's of associates money was stolen. When they cut your hours the managers win twice. From cut hours and from decrease PTO. Its January so the managers are on vacation after getting their bonuses. Fair. From our pockets to theirs.

Pathetic! How many millions of dollars were stolen from Walmarts most reliable employees. I know it was over $4000 worth of time they stole from me. This needs to be a class action lawsuit and a big black eye to this company!
Retired in 2017, got my pto time but nada on built up sick time (192 hours) and personal time (226 hours) because I had no sick relative to use it for before retirement. They didn’t earn that time I did by going to work regardless, so if anyone thinks the Company is looking out for it’s associates they live in a dream world. Happy to help but what have you done for us lately (Walmart Motto)
What we lost with the switch to PTO was our already accrued sick time, $4000 worth in my case was rendered useless. Real great company to work for!
So much wrong with your statement, clearly you have no idea what goes on at the company which you work for. I will set a few things straight for you and eliminate some of your confusion. Mangers do not get to carry over much pto so if they dont use it they lose it and with November and December being blackout months any mangers with pto are trying to squeeze it in before February so it's no just lost. Managers do not get 4 bonuses a year like hourlies just 1 which happens in March. When the company switched to PTO from vacation time, sick time, holiday pay, etc. (If you did the math) associates neither really gained or lost anything just simplified the system. Lastly, Walmart is a retail business which means things like hours are based on sales meaning busy months such as November and December when the company is making alot of money in sales they spend more on payroll and overtime and on the flip side slow months such as January and February associates will not get overtime and the store will see reduction in hours. Hope this clears some things up for anyone who takes the time to read it.
Managers don’t get bonuses until March, same time associates get their my share bonus. IF managers are on vacation it could be one of two things: they are taking some time off before going off to Dallas or they are using their PTO because they have to use it or lose it.
Yea it s---s to be hourly and only make 31 bucks an hour plus incentives... Ohh 60 hours a week, it's great to be salary isn't it you id--t! I'm making more than you and working only 40 hours a week, sure s---s to be a "hourly lifer" LOL Sure wish I had no job security and was required to kiss Walmarts a-- every day like management. Yea you've really made the big time as Walmart store management, your right up there with McDonald's management LOL. Maybe get an education and you can make more working less hours as an hourly lifer?
Bonuses don’t arrive until March.
PTO structure is likely to change somewhat, but details are not known. Could be major or minor in scope. Wait and see before reacting.
Sounds like you are an hourly lifer. You should be happy you get vaca or sick time at all. Many companies don’t offer that to their employees. If you think Walmart is so bad, go work elsewhere! Or get promoted and move up with the company instead of being a disgruntled employee. Yes, all of us managers “love” having to run the store with light staff in January. Bonuses don’t come until March. And too be fair, managers miss every holiday and work straight through the fall season until January when all of you keep calling in. It’s amazing how much people forget and don’t care about things besides their own self avenues. Sorry, if managers take a vaca after they worked 60 hrs a week through the last part of the year. Maybe we should just all give our bonuses to you and our vaca sense it sounds like you work so hard. I can only imagine how many times you’ve called in this past year and what kind of associate you really are. Be thank ful you have a job and stop whining!
Yea that was fun when they stole our sick time, almost $4,000 worth of accrued sick time and poof... gone! Of all the unethical c-ap this company has done that really takes the cake! Reward your most reliable "associates" (LOL) who never call in sick by STEALING their sick time! No wonder we need to rely on the slugs from the temp services to keep staffed. If this isn't illegal it should be and there should be a class action lawsuit filed!
You do know that salaried managers don’t bonus till March right? And as far as I know the pto policy has not changed at all. And no body wins when hours are cut. If you think management enjoys catching calls all around the store and are expected to get results with labor hours or not you are mistaken. Another thing, do you even have the availability to work the hours you’re needing? Or have you gotten with management to secondary you in other areas so you can receive said hours?
