Thread regarding Baker Hughes layoffs

The former leaders got us into this mess in the first place

Saw a couple of people posting on this board, nostalgically saying that times were better under the former leadership and wishing they would come back. While I’m no fan of GE or the way they are running business at BH, and generally think that we would be better off operating as an independent company, let me just point out the fact that the former leaders are the ones who let the company get to a state where it could hardly operate on its own and made it an acquisition target for GE. Think it’s pure madness to think about that period as better times.

Look guys, BHI WAS a great company before Craighead became CEO. He is the one responsible for the complete mess BHI became - remember “one Baker Hughes”? Now throw in the GE trash and I can’t image how bad it is now. I see on Linked-In who is being promoted and it’s astonishing! People with no real talent other than being likeable, loyal and increasingly diverse but no real skill accomplishments or talent.

The former leaders ran abz office into the sewer. Had no idea how to run a successful operation. Bad decisions cost a lot of money, moral was low an everything was a problem. GE much better doing a good job picking up the mess they inherited.
