Argosy On Show Cause with WASC

See Argosy Unoversity current accreditation status here https://www.wscuc.org/institutions/argosy-university.

This is from the WASC site:

Issue an Order to Show Cause

An Order to Show Cause is a decision by the Commission to terminate the accreditation of the institution within a maximum period of one year from the date of the Order, unless the institution can show cause as to why such action should not be taken. Such an Order may be issued when an institution is found to be in substantial noncompliance with one or more of the Standards or, having been placed on Warning or Probation for at least one year, has not been found to have made sufficient progress to come into compliance with the Standards. An Order to Show Cause may also be issued as a summary sanction for unethical institutional behavior (see Summary Sanctions for Unethical Institutional Behavior, below). In response to the Order, the institution has the burden of proving why its candidacy or accreditation should not be terminated. The institution must demonstrate that it has responded satisfactorily to Commission concerns, has come into compliance with all Standards, and will likely be able to sustain compliance.

They recently released all recruiting admission reps from all campuses and it seems are outsourcing this to another company.

Not true. They always intended to keep AUO and they cut off leads there.

DCEH cut off the leads to the campuses it never intended to keep. They now have a reason to get rid of them and tell the Department of Education they can't sustain the business due to a lack of business. I hope the DOE figures it out and makes them pay.

T-hog. There’s no way Argosy will make it a year. There wasn’t enough students before this, especially with no leads. Most receiverships only last a matter of weeks. This is just pushing the doors closed faster.

Thanks for sharing! I wonder if this might really be the end for Argosy

Okay, so Argosy has at best a year to get its sh*t together. Or the receiver does. Next up—all the programmatic accrediting agencies. Hang on to your butts, it's going to be a bumpy ride.

"Argosy University has informed the WASC Senior College and University Commission

(Commission) that the institution has entered receivership based on the inability of its

member LLC, Dream Center Education Holdings, to meet outstanding financial

obligations. The Commission has also received information from the Department of

Education that Argosy University has been placed on Heightened Cash Monitoring 2, the

Department’s reimbursement method of payment. The Commission has concluded that

these factors provide a reasonable basis for its finding that Argosy University is in

substantial noncompliance with Standard 3 of the 2013 Handbook of Accreditation,

Revised. Accordingly, the Commission has ordered Argosy University to Show Cause as

to why its accreditation should not be withdrawn."

Remarkable that DeVos Department of Ed provides so little to students, staff, and the public about all these matters.
