Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Lots of PR trying to gaslight us

Circuit articles saying how great our future will be. Public articles saying how normal taking 7 months to find a CEO is and how our executive exodus is normal.

Make no mistake. We are in trouble. No matter what the Q4 numbers are, things are not looking good. Our 7nm delays, no CEO, huge chip security issues, terrible moral and zero trust spell out a dangerous future. Mix that with a shrinking global economy and tech heavyweights already laying off or cutting back and you've got yourself a really unpredictable year. Better have a plan B.

@Xdw3aMJ-3xjz Sitting on only 2 billion of manufacturing wait for 10nm for three years? More like sitting on just that much in Hillsboro.

How only SA left for this debacle is beyond me, LTD heads, Fellows and VPs as well as many AMs should be fired

2019 will go down as the year of reckoning - the fallse security of the cash cow and chip shortage blinding to the underlying decay in technical leadership, most shockingly in the fab. 5 years ago we claimed to be so far ahead of the competition so as to be untouchable, with only Samsung as a potential threat. Now AMD is kicking our a-- and we are generations behind a dozen competitors. This as we are sitting on $2+ billion in new fabs which we cannot fully leverage because our manufacturing capabilities have withered.

GE Article for the lazy responser. Just google "wsj general electric article". Considering how motivate you appear, it's likely you'll be on the next layoff list! :-)

Intel is going the way of General Electric. Read the extensive WSJ article on GE and you'll see Intel's future.

1) Gross margins to die for

2). Some of the best engineering potential in the company

3) Huge cash cow that can be counted on by over charging by billions to the FAANGs and Chinese companies

4) Huge abilit to pour cash into new initiatives and invest for the long term instead of buying late into new fads.

You’d think BoD had vision and leadership to steer it. But we got PSO and BK in time of need and the layoffs.

Nah, those with talent too smart to touch the Titanic, those blinded by ambition but lacking vision or true leadership are a dime a dozen.

BoD is paralyzed in true moment of crisis something they are ill equipped to manage. Too bad they didn’t make the right decision a decade ago when PSO was selected and let the ship run amuck

Almost a certainty that 2018 will be a record by the numbers and 2019 will be an epic crisis that BoD will fail as their past track record has proven.

Response will be like what they made PSO and BK do, another great ACT, SET or new fancy name
