potatoe-land??? don't go all Dan Quayle on us man, we're in this together....there is no e in potato unless you are pluralising it!

Back on topic though, and the view from over here is the same as it is in the US.

Head count dropping as they move roles to "High Value" (or "Lower Cost" might be more correct) locations. THey have even shut down one of the satellite offices in dublin and trying to sublett 2 of the 7 floors in the main dublin office.

Mostly they are getting away with it by not replacing people as they leave but there have been some layoffs seemingly (never announced, you only ever find out about on the grape vine)

Feeling is that when the pay reviews and bonus' come in (or don't rather) they won't be too upset if people elect to move on. Employment law is a bit more protective of staff over here so its probably not as cut throat as the US side seems to be. (i had no idea Wednesdays were a thing until i saw the postings on this site).

One way or another, you'd be ill advised not to ensure you have options as the next few months could be unpleasant. (Sure HedgeServ and BNP seem to be hoovering up a number of leavers and JP Morgan have got a nice big new office just opened up next door to our Rogerson's Quay one seemingly)
