Thread regarding Qualcomm Inc. layoffs

Can we have a FAIR layoff please ? Justice needed

A layoff not influence by VP’s and director’s picking their favorites

A layoff where external consultants can do it by reviewing the candidates and taking assessment from everyone else

Are you kidding? External consultants are only there to "evaluate" employees and tell the company how to eliminate those employees and employees so the work can be outsourced to the consultanting company, or off-shored.

With the SD climate, I am surprised by the large numbers of snowflakes around Sorrento Valley. Are they mainly H1B and Manpower snowflakes ? Wont they melt if they are shipped off to India ?

FAIR ? Snowflakes and leakers get laid off. Its the tough nuts and hard core b---s---ters that will run rings around the libs and vegans.

Haha! Poor baby!

Nothing here is FAIR!

Is it fair that CA promotes his brother but everybody else gets stuck?

Grow up!

Your wish is an ideal world scenario. Never in practice. Pals help pal, that is the reality. You piss off your lead because he makes a stupid incorrect technical decision, he is not your pal anymore. Your reviews suffer. You get branded as someone who cannot work in team environment. The Lead will continue to live in Qcom making poor decisions while you have to fend for yourself. It is like the gun culture. Once the bad elements make it to the top, the black hole is set. You either get pulled into it and become bad or be out on the street intersections holding a placard eagerly looking at car drivers

Some of the SVPs did not even give an option to volunteer during the last layoff. It is not fair that VPs were given a choice to choose the folks they like or don't like, where as other SVPs gave a fair option to employees.

So sad, so pathetic. Don’t be a victim. Get off your a$$ and walk out the door. I find it incredible that anyone with any marketable skills is still just hanging in there. You and I are not made of the same material - you need to learn how to have pride and take control of your destiny. I would NEVER allow someone to determine my departure in exchange for some lay-off money. How do you look your family in the eyes as you creep off to work every day hoping for that package?

Layoffs are never surgical. Healthy tissue is often cut, leaving behind a lot of necrotic tissue. Engineering job market is good right now. Just find another job and stop whining about Q.
