Thread regarding Dream Center Education Holdings, LLC (DCEH) layoffs

At AiO we have seen way too many facilitators and not enough faculty

Not sure where any faculty on this site have worked or what Ai AU they’re with now, but if you teach students, they don’t need a tutor.

At AiO we have seen way too many facilitators and not enough faculty. Faculty have worked for years spending extra time outside of the classroom tutoring students (campus based and online) who were left behind by overpaid facilitators.

Faculty want to see students succeed regardless of the school, what it’s going through or it’s reputation. Facilitators are just here for the paycheck, perks, and incredible benefits (I didn’t say facilitators were bright just lazy).

Couldnt agree more. OP is @XbVRKNH-roe .

No teacher can do a good job when they have 60 students a quarter, and are expected to embed videos for each of the every week. It's not a business model that promotes caring, or thoughtful consideration whatsoever.

There are two reasons students won’t get a good education at any school:

  1. The student doesn’t show up.

  2. The teacher doesn’t show up.

It’s too bad but there are facilitators at all schools, K-12 public schools, tenured professors at respectable colleges, Ai, AU, lots of people in education jobs just biding their time until retirement or something better falls into their lap. Facilitators happen.

Facilitators are one reason students have a bad experience in college.

Those who have been at an Ai or AU for any length of time know the drill, admissions brings in some good students and some sh--. The good students will get a good education anywhere. The sh--, well faculty are expected to turn them into budding roses. Faculty will take that challenge while facilitators will pass the buck on to tutors.

The lazy facilitators need to be fired or promoted to administrators.

Wow! Let's blame the faculty "facilitators" for the state of AiO. That seems logical and helpful to the current state of things.

@XbvFrb4

What you're engaging in is delusional compartmentalism. Please forgive me for the ad hominem but for an educated person, which you probably are, do you really believe that more faculty would accomplish anything other than provide extra window dressing for the long list of amoral rapacious businessmen and politicians in what has been historically documented to be a quasi educational "long con?"

Try to get a job at a reputable school, with a commendable track record, and your good intentions will follow you as the saying goes, all the days of your life.
