Shopko filed Chapter 11. Not that this comes as any surprise to any of us, we saw this coming miles away.
What I'm worried about now is how this will affect severances for both stores that were already been announced to be closing and those that will be added to the list as part of the bankruptcy proceedings.
Anybody knows how this is handled?
This is what happens when companies hire people into leadership positions only to find out they have previously been fired for poor performance from other companies like Walmart, Home Depot and American Family Insurance and others. Why do companies think they can hire weak leaders and get good results? It don’t happen... no way, no how!
Layed off by Sun Capital Shopko years ago but at least got a severance package by training India replacements for 4 months. Feel for the employees left that they may not get severance after the golden parachutes happen. Great job ruining what once was a good company.
